I am delighted to share my review today for Children of Sinai – Rebirth by Terri Nixon and Shelley Clarke. This is the final book in the Children of Sinai Trilogy, and it has been a wonderful journey. I am sad it has ended.
My huge thanks to Zoe at Zooloo’s Book Tours for arranging my e-copies of the trilogies and for my spot on the Blog Tours.
Seamlessly blending fiction and history, the Children of Sinai trilogy is a tale of adventure, archaeological discoveries, and religious conspiracies; a taut thriller, with splashes of fantasy and sci-fi. Together, Children of Sinai, The Sixth Fire, and Rebirth form a single, unique story that makes us question everything we’ve ever been taught about the world, and our place within it.

Far away from the flourishing community of Hope Meadows, a young man is struggling to find his place in the post-virus world in which he finds himself. A seemingly chance meeting brings him to a place where he finds acceptance and peace, but when violence encroaches on his new life he finds himself on the road again – this time with a companion, and a purpose.
Meanwhile more revelations are coming to light in Hope Meadows; visions of danger and desperation, with no way of knowing how to help, or who needs it. As the inhabitants dig deeper into what they have learned, they come to realise they have only touched the surface of the Fathers’ message, and what it truly means for generations to come.
With the lives of a young family at stake, and the future of mankind on the brink, the Hope Meadows community fights to bring the last scraps of humanity together to face the ultimate, devastating pronouncement from the Fathers.
MY REVIEW
This is the final book in the Children of Sinai series and it has been brilliant reading. This trilogy is one that crosses genres and the author have collaborated brilliantly to create a sci fic, fantasy, history, climate change and evolution style of series. I did mention it was genre crossing!
As this is a trilogy I would definitely recommend reading it in order, not only for the pure pleasure of reading each instalment but for the continuation and the flow of the story and the time lines. this final book takes the reader to the UK, Brighton to be exact and it is here we are introduced to Sunny and Jay. When the virus hit the world and decimated the population, there were those that were immune. The book focuses on Sunny and Jay and their lives as they have become, the journey they will make, the people they meet and how some of the visions are coming to fruition. There are more answers and things are finally linking up. (This is why you should read the previous books!)
As well as this couple, the authors still keep the reader in touch with what is going on with the groups of Twins, especially John and Doron, their partners and also the community of Hope Meadows. There are small bands that still roam and they do pose a threat.
In this book, as I mentioned, their is the sense that it is coming to a close. But there is still more to happen before that final page is turned. As I finished book 2, I did wonder what else there was to bring to the story, but now as I write this, I realise there is actually a lot more. This book gives a voice to those who worry about the future, about what is happening and also about the fear of the unknown. With roaming gangs there is the threat to life. But, life goes on.
The authors have brought religious, historical, folk lore , legend and myth into the story. While it is a story about life and death, about historical changes and how the world as we know it faces the threat of natural selection. It is not all doom and gloom though, it is a story that shows strengths in times of adversity, tragedy and hope for the future, whatever it may look like.
I adored this book as well as the one that precede it. I am so glad I took the time to read this trilogy. The mix of genres make for interesting reading mixing futures and bringing revelations and prophecies to the fore front. engaging and addictive from start to finish and I am sorry it has come to an end. I would definitely recommend this book and the trilogy.
